The muse doesn't make the art, but the artist makes the art from the inspiration of the muse. It doesn't matter if the artist is a painter, writer, musician, or even a dancer, the point is that the artist has to incorporate the inspiration into the work in order to be creative. For example, a movie isn't just a script, but the actors, the studio, and the director work together to create a great movie. This is a lovely sentiment: too true. For me, where the muse chooses to inspire me usually comes in the form of a song and then I have to write the lyrics. There's a song a day on another of my blogs, and they come from songwriter Mary Chapin Carpenter. I didn't know until I started the blog, but now that I've posted a few, I've discovered that most of them come from her. For example, there's one which inspires me for the lyrics and title of this post. Here it is. "Muse", originally from the CD “At the End of the Day”, is a song which I think has some of Ms. Chapin’s best lyrics and art. I love the line: "I have a dream of the day I'm not alone anymore The world gives me no choice I choose to be willing I could live without a soulmate I could be alone forever" In the lyrics to the song, there are four distinct words of inspiration/inspiration for the piece – beautiful, silent, power and happy. It goes without saying that Mary Chapin Carpenter is a great songwriter, and it's not hard to see why she inspires me. She's someone I've admired for many years, but never followed personally. She has a unique sound and style, but she's warm and musical and plays with words in a way that's very honest and heartfelt and personal. I haven't heard many other songs by Mary Chapin Carpenter, but you can check out my page at 82138339de
